I know I've meant to steadily reduce my posting lately and only post schedules, but just that I won't forget for next week, I'll post this one anyways. HinT, a new mixed-gender trio (2 male rappers, 1 female singer), debuted recently with the MV for their debut song, "Passion's Generation". They've also made their premier appearances on both MNET Countdown and KBS Music Bank.
Passion's Generation MV:
MNET Countdown Performance:
KBS Music Bank Performance:
Their style really reminds of 8eight, of which I'm a big fan of. Can't wait until their single album is released on September 25th, because the last time I heard anything similar was when 8eight's Golden Age came out.
Well, I knew they were going to perform some day, just not where or when. It turns out that the day came quicker than I thought, as the past two days saw the debut of two new groups. First, girl group HAM was served up in both M! Countdown (September 17th) and KBS Music Bank (September 18th), appetizing us with their excessively cheerful song, "T.T Dance".
T.T Dance (M! Countdown):
T.T Dance (KBS Music Bank):
Then new boy group SHU-I exploded from seemingly out of no where to show off their debut single, "Bomb Bomb Bomb", on yesterday's Music Bank as well.
Bomb Bomb Bomb:
I don't dislike any of these groups, and they're actually growing on me since these performances aired. Aside from "T.T Dance" being too J-Pop-esque and Bomb Bomb Bomb being somewhat generic, I'd say they were both decent performances.
Look out for them in the future is all I have to end with, because they do seem promising.
As if their previous teasers weren't confusing/funny/dorky enough, Epik High is back with a fresh take on traditional MV conventions (or movie conventions to boot). For "Wannabe", one of their new tracks from their newly released album [e], Tablo and Mithra star in what seems to be a mishmash of Hollywood parodies, to which surprisingly fit well with the music.
Wannabe:
I'm not going to lie, this is like a complete 180 from Epik High, considering their previous MVs (for "One", "Fan") featured a more emotional, somber story. Not too sure which direction is better, but they're both awesome in their own sense.
Also, Epik High's most recent comeback performances of "Wannabe" on Countdown and Music Bank:
Just a friendly reminder that the 6th Asia Song Festival is tonight at 6:00pm KST (5:00am EST). Remember that concert that will feature 51 performers from 9 different countries? Yeah that's the one, and you can probably tell that I'm quite excited.
Apparently it'll be aired in over 30 countries including US and Europe, but I'm not too sure which channel will be streaming it as of now. It's probably worth checking out all of them, because I'm sure there will be a Korean broadcast somewhere.
Anyways, check out my previous post for more details on who's performing, and also visit their official site to find out even more about the event in general.
As with the influx of new boy and girl groups lately, another trend seems to be the rise of the number of male ballad singers recently. One of these such singers include Tei, and while he might not be wet behind the ears like most of the artists these days, his comeback single, "Poisonous Tongue", sure does fit the latter of the trends.
Poisonous Tongue:
Really, all it comes downs to in the end are the vocals, and in this case Tei is nothing to be scoffed at. This being his 5.5th album really shows how much of a veteran he is, and it does translate to the quality of the song as well. Though it is certainly possible to dislike the new wave of ballads, it surely is a well needed contrast to what modern K-Pop is turning in to.

While I had no prior knowledge of who Taegoon was 20 minutes ago, after listening to a few leaked tracks from his new mini album it seemed like he was worth searching up. Debuting earlier this year, Taegoon has since released two other mini albums to decent success.
His comeback track, 'Betrayed', was released as well with an MV, which despite the choppiness, isn't too bad. Really reminds me of 2PM's stages though.
Betrayed:
Seems like standard K-Pop fare to me, complete with auto-tune and all (unfortunately). The rest of the album is sounding pretty good though, so no other complaints here. Look forward to him being on the September 19th Show! Music Core.
Amidst the all of those up-and-coming girl groups lately, a new boy group finds just enough breathing room to debut. Under the name 'Telepathy', the four member group have recently released a new MV for their single, 'U.F.O', along with their debut album, 'Human Evolution'.
U.F.O MV:
I'm not too enticed by the names of the members though, the four of them being Suck, Gunwoo, Horsie, and Back. Maybe this randomness was in response to another really obscure group's name, but I don't know.
Anyways, I'm not too excited for this group for some reason. Though their MV is quite unique, I felt like I've heard something like it many times before. As with all new groups though, their success remains to be seen.
Yes, finally that day is here. The day that all the hype building up for the past month reaches its fitting end, with the awaited release of Epik High's latest compilation, [e].
It has been a long while since the last time I've seen an album with a beefy 30 track list, so I'm sure that all of Epik High's efforts over the past season have paid off well. I'm really excited to start listening to it too, but since I've yet to truck through that monster album, I'll leave my critique out for now.
What I do have, though, are several new videos that are seemingly the result of the group's independent production team (themselves). While I do appreciate the sheer randomness and humor in their recent teaser videos, this new one really is epik. Being a parody of the 2006 Korean movie, The Host, means that unless you're Korean (and have watched the source material), you probably will be as confused and amazed as I am.
Wannabe [M/V] Trailer:
The other set of videos are a couple of live recordings of Epik High on MBC's Music Travel La La La. They ended up premiering a couple songs from their new album, such as 'Wannabe' and 'Heaven', but also a few of their recent hits as well ('Fly', and 'Fan').

Wannabe:
Heaven:
Fan:
Anyways, from what I've heard so far, it's sounding pretty good. Hopefully this is but just the start of many promotions to come from Epik High, as I'm sure they'll just keep going higher.
I really don't know what to make of this, since the recent wave of new female groups is starting to tire me. Not too long ago I already mentioned two new groups making their way onto the K-Pop scene by the end of this month, and this not including f(x)'s debut a few weeks previously. Though here we are again, and yet another group of hopefuls are trying their hand at fame.
HAM, or Heart & Mind, will consist of four members, one of them being Chinese. They've just recently released a teaser for their upcoming debut title, T.T Dance, (no comment on the title as well) which promises a catchy tune and upbeat style. They seem to have that J-Pop vibe to them as well (in my honest opinion).
T.T Dance Teaser:
Not that this group doesn't look promising, it's just that my fanboyism has its limits as well, which I feel are being more than tested at the moment.
While I don't mean to splurge with four articles in one day, (technically one day at the time I'm writing this), just listening to the first track of 'Gift, Part 1' by the out-of-hiatus Park Hyoshin gives me the goosebumps.
Track listing:
01. Gift 02. 사랑한 후에 (Saranghan Hooyae - After I Love) 03. 널바라기 (Nuhl Barahgee - Want You) 04. 이상하다 (Eesang hada - It's Strange) 05. 이름 모를 새 (Eereum moreul sae - Nameless Bird) 06. Deja-vu 07. 사랑한 후에 - Instrumental (Saranghan Hooyae - After I Love [Instrumental]) 08. Deja-vu - Piano Mix Ver.
I'm not going to go through too much detail since I'm rushing this at the moment, but I'll let the music do the talking (because it really is that good).
'Gift':
사랑한 후에:
There's actually a pretty hefty 13 minute MV (split into two parts) of his second track, 사랑한 후에, available along with the 5 minute version, which I genuinely urge you to watch as well. Really, the budget (2.5 million dollars) and production value of this is truly hard to believe, but makes it such a grandiose sight to behold.
사랑한 후에 (Long Ver.):
I really hope it does well, because the more attention these type of lesser-glorified artists get, the better.
