Epik High Wannabe MV

As if their previous teasers weren't confusing/funny/dorky enough, Epik High is back with a fresh take on traditional MV conventions (or movie conventions to boot). For "Wannabe", one of their new tracks from their newly released album [e], Tablo and Mithra star in what seems to be a mishmash of Hollywood parodies, to which surprisingly fit well with the music.

Wannabe:

I'm not going to lie, this is like a complete 180 from Epik High, considering their previous MVs (for "One", "Fan") featured a more emotional, somber story. Not too sure which direction is better, but they're both awesome in their own sense.

Also, Epik High's most recent comeback performances of "Wannabe" on Countdown and Music Bank:

Epik High [e] New Album Released

Yes, finally that day is here. The day that all the hype building up for the past month reaches its fitting end, with the awaited release of Epik High's latest compilation, [e].

It has been a long while since the last time I've seen an album with a beefy 30 track list, so I'm sure that all of Epik High's efforts over the past season have paid off well. I'm really excited to start listening to it too, but since I've yet to truck through that monster album, I'll leave my critique out for now.

What I do have, though, are several new videos that are seemingly the result of the group's independent production team (themselves). While I do appreciate the sheer randomness and humor in their recent teaser videos, this new one really is epik. Being a parody of the 2006 Korean movie, The Host, means that unless you're Korean (and have watched the source material), you probably will be as confused and amazed as I am.

Wannabe [M/V] Trailer:

The other set of videos are a couple of live recordings of Epik High on MBC's Music Travel La La La. They ended up premiering a couple songs from their new album, such as 'Wannabe' and 'Heaven', but also a few of their recent hits as well ('Fly', and 'Fan').

Anyways, from what I've heard so far, it's sounding pretty good. Hopefully this is but just the start of many promotions to come from Epik High, as I'm sure they'll just keep going higher.

Epik High [e] Teaser

Okay, ever since writing about Epik High's anticipated release of their [e] album, I felt the need to follow up on that post by posting a couple videos that are sure to build up hype to this impending release.

First off, there's a teaser that I failed to post a week ago (mainly due to school obligations, but that's besides the point here). Although it's difficult for me to find any purpose of this Cloverfield-esque cam other than to incite confusion (and dizziness for that matter), there are a few subtle hints of songs in the album.

Here's the minute-long teaser:

Well a few days later, a more lengthy (and probably more informational) preview was released, this time sans the shaky camera work. Instead, it features Epik High's Tablo briefly showing off the album case and booklet, all the while the album plays in clips of about 3-4 seconds for each track.

And here's the 3-minute-or-so preview:

It really does look like they've put a lot of effort into this monster album, and I definitely can't wait when it comes out on September 16th.

Epik High New Album Release Date

My god, as if Epik High didn't have enough music already, the trio are already all set to release their monster of an album. So yeah, like the image implies, on September 16, their 30 track collection, named "[e]", will debut. As an Epik High fan myself, I'm pretty excited. Hoping this album won't disappoint.

This is supposedly three days before their [e] Parade 2009 concert, of which they've released a 6 minute teaser for:

I'll include one of my favorite songs from them as well, One, just for additional hype:
